Rémy experienced a deep hurt in her life that led to a life-changing awakening. That awakening, and her journey since then, have helped her heal not only herself, but to help many other people remove mental blocks that impact their lives.

Rémyshares three helpful exercises in this episode:

  • Find The Positive
  • Find Your Core
  • Find Your Strengths

Getting Unstuck Exercise #1: Finding The Positive

To begin: Think about a challenge in your life that has you feeling “stuck.”

Next, spend time thinking about this area of your life, and identify one thing that is positive – just one thing. Remy shares how finding that one positive, and focusing on it, can lead to finding many more.

For example: Rémy asks for a challenge that I, or someone I work with, is facing. I share one of the most common obstacles I hear about: unsupportive friends & family.

What could possibly be positive about that scenario, right? How about these:

  1. The opportunity to “flex the muscles” of your discipline and commitment.
  2. The ability to influence and inspire someone to join you once they see your actions and/or progress.
  3. The knowledge that you are doing something so impactful that others have an opinion about it.

According to Rémy, the key here is getting to the first positive. Sometimes it can seem impossible, but even “I woke up this morning” can put someone in a frame of mind that makes it possible to identify more positives.

Getting Unstuck Exercise #2: Finding Your Core

To begin: draw two stick figures, side-by-side, on a sheet of paper. Draw a circle around the figure on the right to represent your “soul, which encompasses everything you are.” You can label this your “Soul Self.”

The figure on the left can be labeled, “Your Ego Self.”

Rémy describes how the challenges we face in life ask us to align with our “Soul Self.” This means knowing, and being true to, oneself.

Do you experience fear, anxiety, or anger when thinking about your weight? If so, is it because of what others might think?

What would happen if you forgave yourself for the occasional mistake, and you focused on being grateful for your present health and the ability to improve it?

Who are you – at your core – when you remove doubts, worries, and fears about what others think of or want from you?

Getting Unstuck Exercise #3: Finding Your Strengths

Ego Vs. Self Esteem GraphicTo begin: Draw two columns. The left column will have a few words describing your challenge. (For example, “I hate counting calories.”)

On the right, list out 20 strengths. Consider: optimism, tenacity, confidence, playfulness, resourcefulness, compassion…

Now, choose a strength from the right side to help solve your challenge on the left.

That’s it. You have what it takes to tackle this. If you struggle listing your strengths, ask your friends – they’ll help!
