Happy Motivation Monday everyone! I’m sorry for missing my post last week (and huge thanks to Sam for filling in for me), my wife and I were moving from our tiny little apartment, to our first house! It was quite the experience, and thanks to all of my friends who helped me in the move.
I’m not going to lie, I was really scared when we were moving, and when we were signing the paperwork. What if we didn’t like the place? What if we couldn’t afford it? What if one of us lost our jobs? What if? What if? What if?
I had to stop myself. These thoughts were coming from a place of fear, a fear of change. I knew these thoughts well. I battled these demons almost 2 years ago when I decided to lose weight.
We can’t be afraid of change. Change is a part of life, and it’s a GOOD part of life. Change forces you to adapt to new situations, to new challenges. And that makes YOU grow to be the best version of yourself that you can be.
“Whomever you truly are… honor that person. No dream was ever realized by disappearing into the shadows of self-deceit and doubt.”
― Jaeda DeWalt
Embrace the change, don’t fear it. In games like World of Warcraft, if you stay in one place too long, you eventually stop getting experience in that area, you can’t level up. You become too powerful, and in order to advance, you have to go into a new zone, face more dangerous enemies.
Change is built into every aspect of our lives. Running from it or hiding from it won’t work. Change will happen with or without your permission. So you have two options: Go with the change and become better, or let the change happen and live in fear.
So go out there, embrace change, and level up. You deserve it. I’ll leave you with this question: What is changing right now in your life? How are YOU going to embrace it, as opposed to running from it? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
