We are on day 16 of Sam’s 21-Day Motivational Series, and while all have been so well written, this one struck a particular chord with me and I felt I needed to share it.
As some of you may or may not know, Sam is kind of a superhero (I am super biased). He found the courage in himself, with the support of his amazing lady and family, to leave the corporate life of steady pay and guarantee of food on the table to start this podcast.
For Sam, and for so many of us who have made major change in our lives, deciding to move forward rather than to stay where we have been (for so long) is no easy feat. In fact, the decision is sometimes the easiest part of the equation. The tough stuff comes in the doing, the action; the place between your dream and what will come is the grunt work.
He makes it seem easy; but having the opportunity to work closely with Sam over the last 10 months I can assure you, it’s hard work, every day. The action is what we all benefit from every day. He is living daily in his dream and because of all his hard work, we get to hear the success stories of so many others who have also made some pretty tough decisions… Have a read.
“The distance between your dreams and reality is called ACTION.”
The decision to launch TipsOfTheScale was an incredibly scary one.
I feared failure. I feared that because I wasn’t a celebrity with a book or a diet named after me, that no one would take my message or my passion for this work seriously.
I feared that no one would listen.
But my worst fear was that if I didn’t take the leap then – when looking my new son in the eyes and thinking of his future – that I’d never again have the courage to pursue my dream.
Fast forward to today.
To date, TipsOfTheScale has been heard in over 160 countries around the world. Our most popular episode has been played over 34,000 times. The Scale Warrior Village has become an incredibly strong community and is steadily growing. The first TipsOfTheScale conference will be held in a few months.
Like many of my guests, if I’d been asked a few years ago if I believed all this would be happening, it would have seemed impossible.
All I knew was that I was going to stop wishing and start doing.
I would stop wishing I could help people and make an impact on the world; stop wishing for freedom from the corporate rat race; stop wishing I could work from home and watch my son grow up.
I was prepared to give, to sacrifice, to put to my vision to the test and find out what I was made of.
I’m very proud of what TipsOfTheScale has evolved to become, but I’m equally, if not more, proud of what my amazing guests have accomplished.
Each and every one of these amazing people stared their fears in the face and took action towards a goal that might have seemed impossible at the time, and look at them now.
Only action stands between you and your dreams & goals. What action will you take today to move you closer to yours?
Here’s to your weight-loss success,
-Sam
